Costa Rica has activated its first 5G Standalone network through a partnership between telecom giant Ericsson and Liberty Latin America, marking a major milestone in the nation’s digital infrastructure.

The network promises faster speeds, reduced latency, and improved connectivity, aiming to enhance smart city capabilities, telemedicine, and mobile innovation across the country.

The launch positions Costa Rica as a regional leader in next-generation wireless technology.
