Intel has announced it will withdraw its operations from Costa Rica as part of a sweeping global restructuring effort that includes 24,000 job cuts.

The move, attributed to declining profits and a new leadership vision, will also affect the company’s presence in Germany and Poland.

Costa Rican officials expressed concern over the economic impact, as Intel has been a major player in the nation’s technology and export sector.
