Candidates Must Submit Applications Starting January 7 for the 2025 Academic Year
As the new academic year approaches in
Costa Rica, students who sat for the joint admissions examination of the University of
Costa Rica (UCR) and the National University (UNA) are preparing to apply for their desired courses.
This process will commence on January 7, marking a crucial period for prospective students eager to secure a place at these prestigious institutions.
At the UCR, the initiative is open to all candidates who have received an admissions score, with the institution having abolished the minimum score requirement in 2020.
Students are required to select their preferred courses and campuses between January 7 and January 9, precisely by 11:55 p.m. via the university’s official admissions website at https://eingreso.ucr.ac.cr/eingreso/.
The results of this competitive process will be made public on January 16 at 4 p.m., after which successful candidates will proceed with enrollment procedures.
For the upcoming academic year, UCR is set to offer 10,352 spots.
Meanwhile, at the UNA, those candidates who achieved a score of 451.71 or higher face crucial choices.
From January 7 to January 10, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., students can either opt to switch their initially chosen courses or select them if not already done through their admissions portal at www.registro.una.ac.cr.
Admission results will be disclosed on January 22 at 7 p.m., setting the stage for the enrollment process, which will run until February 12 as per individual appointments via the same online platform.
UNA has planned to allocate approximately 4,000 places for the 2025 academic year.
The dual-admission process highlights a significant partnership between these two influential Costa Rican universities, aiming to streamline entry into higher education for students across the nation.
As the date approaches, students are advised to carefully deliberate their academic choices and ensure prompt participation in the application process.
