A milestone event for the airport as passenger numbers soar since its 2012 opening.
On June 10, 2025, the Daniel Oduber International Airport, operated by VINCI Airports, is set to reach a significant milestone by welcoming its 15 millionth passenger since its inauguration in 2012. The momentous event will coincide with the arrival of Southwest Airlines flight WN4977 from Houston, Texas, scheduled to land at 1:10 PM.
The 15 millionth passenger will be randomly selected from the 170 travelers aboard the flight.
Each passenger will receive a unique number prior to boarding in Houston, and the identification process will involve counting passengers as they disembark until the designated number is reached.
This will mark the fourth occasion that the Daniel Oduber Airport has celebrated such a record in passenger growth, highlighting its increasing role in international travel.
Notably, previous milestones include the 9 millionth passenger, Carla Willitz from the United States, on January 7, 2022; the 10 millionth passenger, Jake Hubbell, also from the United States, on August 31, 2022; and the 12 millionth passenger, Noemi Zerbib from Canada, on December 8, 2023.
The identity of the 15 millionth passenger will be publicly announced following the flight's arrival, underscoring the airport's commitment to engage with travelers and highlight its growth in the aviation sector.
In related economic matters, the dollar exchange rates as of June 10, 2025, show a sale rate of ¢509.32 and a purchase rate of ¢503.01, as reported by the Central Bank of

The successful achievement of this passenger milestone reflects ongoing trends in global travel post-pandemic, indicating a resurgence in airline industry operations and international tourism.
