Costa Rica Faces High Temperatures and Moderate Winds on April 9th

National Meteorological Institute forecasts elevated temperatures across the country, with Nicoya reaching up to 40.2 °C.
On Wednesday, April 9th, Costa Rica is expected to experience a warm weather pattern, according to the National Meteorological Institute (IMN).

Elevated temperatures are forecasted nationwide, particularly in the North Pacific region where the town of Nicoya is predicted to reach 40.2 °C. Other notable temperatures include Liberia at 38.8 °C, Bagaces at 37.1 °C, and Puntarenas at 36.2 °C.

The IMN has also noted that the passage of Cold Push No. 19 over the northern Caribbean Sea will increase atmospheric pressure.

This change is expected to accelerate winds in the mountainous regions and the northern parts of the country, with indirect impacts intensifying on Thursday.

Despite these conditions, only minimal rain is anticipated for Wednesday.

In the Central Valley, residents can expect partly to mostly cloudy skies, along with moderate winds throughout the day.

Significant rainfall is not expected, with temperatures in San José projected to range from a minimum of 18.5 °C to a maximum of 28.2 °C.

The North Pacific region is forecasted to have clear skies and predominantly sunny conditions with wind throughout the day.

Nicoya is set to experience the highest temperature in the country, while its minimum is expected to be 23.4 °C.

The Central Pacific will see partial cloudiness from dawn through the afternoon, with isolated showers possible.

By night, the sky will remain mostly cloudy, and Parrita's temperatures will range from a minimum of 18.6 °C to a maximum of 32.8 °C.

The South Pacific region will also have partial cloud coverage, with isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms predicted in the afternoon.

Light rains are likely later in the evening, with Golfito experiencing a minimum temperature of 22 °C and a maximum of 29.8 °C.

In the North Caribbean, mostly cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are expected, with occasional rain in the early hours, concentrating clouds in mountainous areas during the afternoon.

Guápiles will have temperatures between 22.4 °C and 28.5 °C.

The South Caribbean will experience similar weather, with occasional early rains and potential afternoon showers in higher zones.

Limón's temperatures are forecasted to be between a minimum of 22.7 °C and a maximum of 27.6 °C.

In the Northern Zone, partial cloudiness is anticipated with the possibility of rain in mountainous areas during the afternoon.

The plains will have clearer skies, with Ciudad Quesada expected to see temperatures ranging from 16.3 °C to 29.2 °C.

In San José, sunrise will occur at 5:29 A.M. and sunset will be at 5:47 P.M. The lunar phase will continue to approach full moon.
