Long-Distance Love: Jonathan Aparicio Discusses Relationship with Dancer Michael Rubí

Aparicio opens up about maintaining a relationship with the renowned dancer amidst a demanding career in Mexico.
In an exclusive interview, Jonathan Aparicio, the partner of renowned dancer Michael Rubí, shared insights into their long-distance relationship.

While maintaining a low public profile, Aparicio discussed the dynamics of their romance, which has flourished despite geographical challenges.

Rubí, who resides in Mexico due to his work with singer Gloria Trevi, and Aparicio manage their relationship through constant communication.

"It’s a bit complicated,” Aparicio expressed, acknowledging the challenges of being in a long-distance romantic engagement for the first time.

Aparicio noted that they communicate daily, sharing details about their lives to feel closer despite the miles apart.

“Though Michael is not physically present, I consider him to be here because we talk every day, we call each other, and share what happens in our day, which makes us feel more connected,” he stated.

The nature of their communication contributes significantly to their relationship.

Aparicio ensures to send thoughtful gestures, such as flowers, to Rubí after his performances, reinforcing their emotional connection.

“I always try to send him flowers after each show, even if I’m not there.

What I like is for him to feel my presence, even from afar,” he added.

Currently, their visits are infrequent due to Rubí's touring schedule, which includes stops across Latin America in countries such as Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia.

Aparicio traveled to Mexico to see Rubí from April 18 until May 25, but they have not arranged subsequent visits due to his ongoing tours.

"I just returned to work after my trip, so I haven’t seen him lately,” he said.

During his recent visit, the couple engaged in activities such as making TikTok videos and exploring local attractions, including regular visits to a popular spot known for its churros.

"We like to talk and go out, and we each have scooters that we use to explore parks in Mexico and discover new places together,” Aparicio elaborated.

Looking ahead, Aparicio mentioned that Rubí is likely to visit him on June 6, as he plans to spend time with both Aparicio and his family.

Their relationship, which began during the television program 'Mira quién baila,' is set to commemorate eight months together on June 23.
