Alajuelense's Grupo Liguismo Unido Announces Limitations for Upcoming Match Reception

Due to venue changes, expectations for a grand spectacle on Sunday’s final against Herediano have been adjusted.
The Grupo Liguismo Unido has issued a statement regarding the reception plans for the upcoming match between Liga Deportiva Alajuelense and Herediano, scheduled for Sunday, May 28, 2025. The announcement follows a notable reception held on Wednesday at the Estadio Morera Soto during the game against Deportivo Saprissa, which drew significant praise from fans.

Due to the venue change from Estadio Morera Soto to Estadio Nacional, the group clarified that the elaborate spectacles planned for the final match cannot be realized as initially intended.

The alteration in location has hindered their ability to execute the logistical plans originally crafted for Alajuela, as well as the specific permissions required for such displays, which do not carry over to the new venue.

In their statement, the group acknowledged the high expectations set by their previous reception and expressed their awareness of the challenges in surpassing that standard within the new framework.

They indicated that news of their home venue's suspension was communicated to them on Thursday at 4 p.m., a timeframe that has severely restricted their ability to prepare adequately.

The group noted that the preparations included a tifo—an elaborate visual display which had consumed significant portions of their budget and derived donations.

Furthermore, they stated that the constrained time period left them with only one business day to contact suppliers for necessary materials, noting that the scale required for Estadio Nacional poses additional logistical complications, as few providers stock such large quantities.

Grupo Liguismo Unido candidly addressed the situation, acknowledging that under these circumstances, achieving any semblance of the earlier reception is unlikely.

They underscored that none of the permits obtained for activities at Estadio Morera Soto would be valid for the new location, and reiterated that time constraints render it impossible to obtain necessary approvals for Sunday.

With lingering sanctions affecting Alajuelense in league play, the group has conveyed their commitment to delivering the best experience possible under the current conditions, promising future efforts to enhance fan experiences.

The reception at Estadio Morera Soto during the match against Deportivo Saprissa had received significant attention, celebrated for its scale and organization.

However, fans are now being advised to adjust their expectations for the upcoming final.
