Atmospheric Instability Forecasts Rain Across Various Regions This Weekend

National Weather Institute predicts increased atmospheric instability linked to the repositioning of the Intertropical Convergence Zone.
The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) forecasts that on Saturday, May 24, the country will experience increased atmospheric instability, associated with the repositioning of the Intertropical Convergence Zone over the region and the influence of accelerated trade winds in the central Caribbean Sea.

From the early hours of the day, the Caribbean slope and the northern zone are expected to see cloud cover with scattered rain that will intensify between morning and noon.

In contrast, the Pacific regions will face heavy showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon, particularly in coastal and mountainous areas.

In the Central Valley, overcast skies are anticipated for much of the day, with rainfall and heavy showers expected in the western areas during the afternoon.

San José is projected to experience a minimum temperature of 19.4 °C and a maximum of 25.4 °C.

The North Pacific region will see variable cloudiness, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon, especially in coastal zones.

Liberia is forecasted to reach 34 °C, while the minimum will be 17 °C.

Conditions in the Central Pacific will begin with partially cloudy skies in the morning, which will give way to intensified rain and storms primarily in coastal areas during the afternoon.

In Parrita, temperatures are expected to range from 18.7 °C to 31.8 °C.

The South Pacific will experience similar conditions, with increased cloudiness and heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms expected in the western regions during the afternoon and evening.

Golfito is anticipated to record a minimum of 21.9 °C and a maximum of 28.9 °C.

For the North Caribbean, the IMN anticipates a mostly cloudy day, with scattered showers in the morning and thunderstorms in mountainous areas during the afternoon.

Guápiles is projected to reach a minimum of 22.7 °C and a maximum of 28 °C.

In the South Caribbean, skies will remain partially cloudy, with isolated rains in the morning and precipitation in mountainous areas during the afternoon.

In Sixaola, temperatures are expected to be between 23.3 °C and 30.5 °C.

The Northern Zone will start the day with partial cloudiness and isolated rain, with thunderstorms anticipated in mountainous areas during the afternoon.

Upala is expected to reach a maximum of 33 °C and a minimum of 23.7 °C.

In San José, the sun is predicted to rise at 5:14 AM and set at 5:52 PM. The lunar phase is moving towards the new moon.
