Costa Rica has become the first country in Central America to deploy a 5G standalone mobile network, thanks to a collaboration between Ericsson and Liberty Latin America.

The new infrastructure promises ultra-low latency and high-speed connectivity, laying the foundation for smart cities, advanced healthcare, and next-generation industrial applications.

Government officials hailed the project as a milestone in the country’s digital transformation strategy.
