Kolbi Addresses Major Service Disruptions Caused by Landslide

Fiber optic service interruptions reported in several regions due to structural failure following adverse weather conditions.
On June 10, 2025, telecommunications provider Kolbi disclosed the cause of significant service disruptions affecting numerous users across various regions.

The issues began early in the day when customers reported being unable to make calls or access the internet, leading to widespread complaints on social media platforms.

In response to inquiries regarding the incident and the areas impacted, Kolbi officials stated that their technical teams are addressing a specific fault located at the Zetillal bridge in Goicoechea.

This structural failure, attributed to a landslide caused by recent adverse weather conditions, resulted in damage to the supports of the company’s fiber optic cables.

The landslide has disrupted connectivity between key areas including Vásquez de Coronado, San Pedro, and Alto de Guadalupe.

Consequently, both fixed and mobile services have been partially affected in certain localities within Goicoechea, Vásquez de Coronado, and Montes de Oca.

Kolbi representatives confirmed that efforts to restore services are ongoing and initiated as soon as the issue was identified, with teams deployed to the affected site.

Kolbi has emphasized its commitment to transparency and maintaining the integrity of public discourse, particularly in the context of rapidly evolving discussions on social media.

Thus, the company has established a comment section reserved exclusively for its subscribers, ensuring that interactions surrounding the incident are accountable and transparent.
