The victory allows Napoli to finish the season with a one-point lead over second-placed Inter Milan, the defending champions.

Inter also won their match against Como, finishing 2-0, but it was not enough to secure the title.

Following the match, Napoli will look ahead to their next campaign after a challenging 2023-2024 season, where they finished tenth, 41 points behind the champions.

The recent appointment of Antonio Conte as head coach has been a pivotal change for the club, despite him being suspended from the sidelines during the championship match.

The scoring for Napoli began with a spectacular scissors kick from Scottish player Scott McTominay in the 42nd minute, followed by a goal from Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku shortly after halftime in the 51st minute.

At one point in the match, from the goal by Inter's Stefan De Vrij in the 20th minute until McTominay's unforeseen goal, Inter appeared to be on track to become champions again, but Napoli swiftly regained control.

The celebrations initiated immediately following the final whistle in Naples, with the city erupting in joy and adorned with the team's colors leading up to the match.

Napoli's defensive strength was a key factor in their success this season, boasting the best defense in Serie A, which offset a less potent offensive that ranked fifth in scoring.

Throughout the season, Napoli maintained consistency, remaining in either first or second place since the fourth matchday.
