Scheduled Power Outages Across Greater Metropolitan Area on June 11

Planned maintenance leads to electricity cuts in Montes de Oca, La Unión, Pavas, and Zapote.
The National Power and Light Company (CNFL) has announced scheduled electricity outages affecting four sectors in the Greater Metropolitan Area on Wednesday, June 11. These interruptions will occur due to maintenance and upgrades to the electric grid.

The affected areas include Montes de Oca, La Unión (Cartago), Pavas, and Zapote, where activities such as conductor installations, pole relocation, transformer transfers, and preventive maintenance will take place.

In Montes de Oca, the power cut will occur from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The service will be suspended from the Fuente de la Hispanidad to the Delta Service Station along National Route No. 2, impacting parts of Streets 53, 57, 59, and Avenida Primera.

Notable establishments affected include Terra U, Costa Rasta, Banco Nacional, Ready Pizza, Mr. Pig, Planet Hair, the Communication Institutional Office of the UCR, the Institute of Psychological Research, Clinic Dental Atmetlla, Editorial Escuela Para Todos, and the UCR Foundation for Research.

The outage in La Unión, Cartago is scheduled from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In Río Azul, specifically 100 meters east and 150 meters north of Bar Jojo, the service will be halted due to pole relocation.

This disruption will mainly affect residential houses.

In Pavas, the power cut will take place from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM for transformer transfer due to pole replacement at Avenida 1A and Calle 80A, impacting residential areas and the Mantova condominium.

The Zapote and Cathedral areas will experience a power cut from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This outage will extend from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) at the Rotunda of Social Guarantees to Pequeño Mundo in the Naciones Unidas neighborhood, affecting intermediate sections such as Plaza González Víquez.

Affected establishments include McDonald's, Palí, Banco Popular, Clínica Carlos Durán, Pequeño Mundo, Correos de Costa Rica, Academia de Policías, Colegio Seminario, Clínica Sin Fronteras, Escuela Naciones Unidas, Farmacia Especial, and Repuestos Aki.

The outages are part of preventive maintenance of electrical works.
