The new location in Liberia marks Starbucks' expansion in the region, with plans for further openings in 2025.
On June 10, 2025, Starbucks announced the opening of its first store in Guanacaste,
Costa Rica.
The new location is situated in the Solarium business park in Liberia, having involved an investment of $800,000.
The store will operate daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and features a self-service option.

Costa Rica, stated, 'Guanacaste has the ideal conditions to accommodate a Starbucks store, with a steady flow of residents and visitors.
For us, it is an important step to continue bringing our brand, experience, and values to more Costa Ricans in various regions of the country.'
Additionally, Starbucks plans to open two more stores in Guanacaste during the second semester of 2025. These new openings are expected to create approximately 50 jobs, with 95% of positions filled by local residents.
Currently, Starbucks operates 30 locations across
Costa Rica and employs over 400 individuals.
