Óscar Ramírez Discusses Joshua Navarro's Potential Move Ahead of League Final

The Alajuelense manager addresses speculation surrounding Navarro's future amid preparations for a crucial championship match.
Joshua Navarro has transformed from a marginal player under coach Alexandre Guimaraes to a key figure for coach Óscar Ramírez at Liga Deportiva Alajuelense.

As one of the players with an expiring contract, rumors have emerged that Navarro is poised to join rivals Herediano.

This speculation has surfaced just before the significant final between Alajuelense and Herediano, creating a backdrop of intrigue surrounding Navarro's commitment to his current team.

Ramírez has openly discussed this situation with Navarro, emphasizing the player's admirable values and strong character.

He noted, "I think I have found a young man with incredible values, which allows me to contemplate important matters.

He comes from a very humble family, and we have spoken about that, and everything is clear."

The coach expressed satisfaction with Navarro's contributions in the finals, highlighting his impactful performances in the latter stages of matches.

"I am very happy with his participation and expecting the best from him.

I believe he has been a decisive factor in the second halves, and that will be our strategy," Ramírez stated.

Regarding the ongoing chatter about Navarro's potential contract with Herediano, Ramírez reinforced the importance of professionalism and dedication within the sport.

He mentioned, "When one is in an institution, one must give the best until the last day.

One must leave with one's head held high and keep the doors open."

Ramírez noted that he has had multiple conversations with Navarro, appreciating the player's demeanor and sincerity.

"I see the face, and I like that.

He is a very simple, shy young man, but when he speaks, the honesty is evident, and that reassures me," Ramírez added.

Tickets for the first leg of the championship final are reportedly selling rapidly, with 50% of the National Stadium's capacity sold in just 20 hours of presale, according to reports.

The opening match of the final between Alajuelense and Herediano is set to take place on Sunday, May 25, at 5 p.m. in La Joya, La Sabana.
