Uber Reports $1.776 Billion Net Income in Q1 2025, Ending Previous Losses

Company sees significant revenue growth across mobility and delivery sectors while managing increased costs.
Uber Technologies announced a net income attributed to shareholders of $1.776 billion for the first quarter of 2025, a marked turnaround from the net losses of $654 million recorded in 2024. The company’s total revenue reached $11.533 billion, representing a 13.8% increase compared to the previous year.

Revenue from mobility services contributed $6.496 billion, experiencing a growth of 15.3%.

The delivery segment generated $3.777 billion, which reflects a 17.5% increase.

Conversely, the freight transportation sector saw a slight decline, bringing in $1.260 billion, a decrease of 1.9% year-on-year.

Additionally, Uber reported a 13.7% increase in gross bookings, amounting to $42.818 billion.

Operational costs for the quarter rose by 3.5%, totaling $10.305 billion.

Chief Executive Officer Dara Khosrowshahi highlighted the company’s performance, stating, “We began the year with another quarter of profitable growth at scale, with an 18% increase in trips and an even higher user retention rate.

We achieved over $2 billion of quarterly cash flow.”

Looking ahead to the second quarter, Uber anticipates gross bookings growth between 16% and 20% in constant currencies, projecting a range of $45.750 billion to $47.250 billion in gross bookings.
