700-Ton Steel Structure Completes Northern Section of Eladio Rosabal Cordero Stadium

Transportation of the initial steel framework for the new home of Club Sport Herediano marks a significant milestone in construction progress.
The construction of the Eladio Rosabal Cordero Stadium, the new home for Club Sport Herediano, has reached a critical milestone with the completion of a 700-ton steel structure for its northern section.

This major framework, representing the first four floors of a planned seven-story building, was transported using eight trucks and arrived at the site on March 22.

Upon completion, the northern sector will house administrative offices and is essential for enclosing the entire stadium, although the southern section is designated for a hotel.

The project is progressing steadily, with current estimates indicating that construction will be completed by late 2025.

Aquil Alí, Vice President of Fuerza Herediana, reported that the stadium's construction has reached 72% completion, with expectations to reach 75% shortly as more materials arrive on-site.

Alí expressed aspirations for the team to start playing there by the end of the year, emphasizing that the new stadium will significantly strengthen the club's position.

To expedite the project, Club Sport Herediano recently secured financing amounting to $17.5 million (approximately 8.925 billion colones) to complete the ongoing work and manage a $10 million debt incurred to begin construction.

In a recent partnership signed in Houston, Texas, on February 13, Fuerza Herediana collaborated with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to equip the new stadium with state-of-the-art technology.

HPE, through its Aruba brand, will deliver advanced connectivity solutions throughout the stadium, ensuring comprehensive WiFi access for all attendees, thereby enhancing the visitor experience.

Technological innovations also include the implementation of artificial intelligence functionalities, which will allow spectators to order food directly to their seats and enable precise seat identification.

Alí acknowledged his brother, Arif Alí, Project Execution Director, for his contributions to revitalizing the construction process and integrating technological advancements into the facility.
