Between Friday and early Saturday morning, a series of traffic accidents across the country resulted in the fatalities of four motorcyclists.

The first incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Friday in Cariari de Pococí.

A 25-year-old man, identified by the surname Nájera, lost control of his motorcycle, veering into oncoming traffic where he collided head-on with a minibus.

He died at the scene due to the severity of the impact.

The second accident took place shortly after 9 p.m. the same day in Lourdes de Capellades, Alvarado de Cartago.

A 44-year-old man, Leonardo Calderón, was riding a motorcycle when he reportedly lost control, skidded, and fell onto the asphalt.

He also succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Calderón, a father of three, was well-known in the communities of Juan Viñas and La Victoria de Jiménez for his musical projects, including a band named La Victoria and a children’s group from the local community.

The third incident occurred near midnight on Saturday in the community of Canaán, Rivas de Pérez Zeledón, when a collision between two motorcycles resulted in the deaths of both riders.

One of the deceased was identified as Cristhian Segura Cruz, aged 21, who was the brother of Bryan Segura, the goalkeeper and captain of the Municipal team, Guerreros del Sur.

Segura Cruz collided with another motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man with the surname Cárdenas, and both died at the site of the accident.
