Liberty confirmed on the night of March 22 that it experienced a significant interruption in its mobile telephony and internet services.

The disruptions began at 7:30 PM and lasted for approximately three hours, affecting customers nationwide.

By 10:30 PM, the issues were reported to have been resolved.

Customers began reporting problems with fixed internet connections and mobile phone services from 7:30 PM, prompting concerns across the country.

Shortly after these reports surfaced, Liberty acknowledged the issue via its social media channels around 9 PM. An hour and a half later, the company declared that the problem had been resolved.

An official message from Liberty stated, "Currently, we are facing an inconvenience in our network, which may cause interruptions in our services.

Our technical team is working to restore them as soon as possible.

We thank you for your understanding."

Jose Pablo Rivera, the Director of Communications at Liberty, further explained that multiple system failures occurred simultaneously, leading to a widespread service outage.

He noted, "On the night of this Saturday, we faced several fiber cuts in the routes that supply our data services.

Unfortunately, these cuts, occurring in different parts of the country, coincided in timing, with the latest being an accident that damaged the electrical lines on the Interamerican Highway South.

Our technical teams are already repairing these cuts and we expect services to normalize in a few minutes."

Rivera later confirmed that services had restored, corroborated by reports from Liberty customers across the affected areas.
