Barcelona Secures 3-0 Victory Over Osasuna, Takes Sole Lead in La Liga

Barcelona's emphatic win at Montjuic strengthens their position at the top of the Spanish league, with key players making significant contributions.
Barcelona reinforced its lead in La Liga with a commanding 3-0 victory over Osasuna, positioned 14th in the league, during a match at Montjuic.

This game, which was rescheduled from March 8 due to the passing of first-team doctor Carles Miñarro, marked the 27th round of the Spanish league.

Despite some sidelined players from both teams due to the controversial timing of the match shortly after the international break, Barcelona excelled, with goals scored by Ferran Torres in the 11th minute, Dani Olmo converting a penalty in the 21st minute, and Robert Lewandowski sealing the victory in the 77th minute.

Coach Hansi Flick opted to start Lewandowski on the bench, alongside Uruguayan Ronald Araújo, who was a late call-up.

Brazilian Raphinha was absent from the match after participating in a game against Argentina just days prior.

Osasuna's coach Vicente Moreno made the decision to leave Croatian Ante Budimir out of the lineup.

As a result of this victory, Barcelona broke its tie with Real Madrid on points, standing alone at the top of the league table with 63 points—three ahead of Real Madrid and seven clear of Atlético Madrid, which currently holds the third position.

Barcelona is set to face Atlético Madrid next Wednesday in the return leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals at the Metropolitano Stadium, after an exhilarating 4-4 draw in the first leg.

In upcoming fixtures, Real Madrid will host Leganés on Saturday, while Barcelona is scheduled to play Girona and Atlético Madrid is set to compete against Osasuna on the following Sunday.
