Costa Rica Braces for Elevated Temperatures and Strong Winds on April 2

The IMN forecasts high temperatures and moderate trade winds across various regions in Costa Rica.
The Instituto Meteorológico Nacional (IMN) has issued a warning for April 2, predicting a day characterized by low humidity levels, elevated midday temperatures, and moderate trade winds, particularly intensifying in the northern regions of Costa Rica.

In the Central Valley, conditions are expected to be clear to partially cloudy throughout the day, with winds notably felt in mountainous areas.

In San José, temperatures are set to range from a minimum of 17 °C to a maximum of 27.2 °C.

The Northern Pacific region will experience clear skies from dawn.

Morning hours will be predominantly sunny, transitioning in the afternoon and evening to slightly cloudy conditions.

Nicoya is forecasted to reach highs of 38 °C, with a minimum temperature of 21.7 °C.

Central Pacific regions will start the day with minimal cloud cover.

An increase in cloudiness is anticipated by the afternoon, along with isolated downpours in mountainous areas.

Parrita is expected to register temperatures between 18.8 °C and 32.3 °C.

The Southern Pacific will see similar weather patterns, starting primarily sunny, with the potential for isolated rain in the afternoon near the Gulf of Dulce.

Golfito's temperatures are forecasted to range from 22.1 °C to 30.4 °C.

In the Northern Zone, mornings will begin with partial cloud cover and clear skies are expected in the plains by the afternoon.

Upala is predicted to hit 35 °C, with a minimum of 22.1 °C.

The Northern Caribbean region will experience variable cloud cover in the morning and evening, with clearer skies for most of the day.

Tortuguero is projected to have temperatures between 24 °C and 30.9 °C.

The Southern Caribbean will start with partial cloud cover that will decrease by midday.

In Limón, the minimum temperature is forecasted at 22.1 °C, with a maximum of 30.2 °C.

The IMN has stated that elevated temperatures will prevail across most of the country, especially in northern and Pacific regions, with the Northern Pacific remaining predominantly sunny, while the Caribbean and Northern Zone are expected to have variable cloudiness throughout the day.

- In San José, sunrise occurred at 5:33 AM and sunset is expected at 5:47 PM.
- The lunar phase is advancing towards the waxing gibbous.
