Weather Forecast for Central Valley and Surrounding Regions in Costa Rica

Impact of High-Pressure System Influences Winds and Weather Conditions Across the Country
The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) has announced that on Friday, March 28, weather conditions across Costa Rica will be influenced by a high-pressure system located over the northern Caribbean basin.

This meteorological situation is expected to generate accelerated trade winds with frequent gusts in the Central Valley, North Pacific, and mountain ranges of the country.

In the Central Valley, a mix of little to partial cloud cover is expected throughout the day, accompanied by moderate winds.

In San José, temperatures are forecasted to range from a minimum of 18.2 °C to a maximum of 23 °C.

The North Pacific region will experience mainly clear and windy conditions from dawn until nightfall, with Liberia anticipated to be one of the warmer areas, experiencing maximum temperatures of 35.3 °C and a minimum of 21.1 °C.

In the Central Pacific, skies will remain partly cloudy during the morning hours.

Isolated showers are anticipated in the afternoon along with variable cloudiness, with temperatures in Quepos reaching a maximum of 32.6 °C and a minimum of 24 °C.

The South Pacific is expected to see increased atmospheric activity, with isolated rain and thunderstorms occurring in the afternoon.

Additional precipitation may occur during the night, with temperatures in Golfito ranging between 23.3 °C and 32.8 °C.

The North Caribbean region anticipates scattered showers and predominantly cloudy skies throughout the day, with temperatures in Guápiles expected to range from 22.8 °C to 26.9 °C.

Similarly, the South Caribbean will experience persistent cloudiness and occasional rains, particularly in mountainous areas.

Limón is projected to have a minimum temperature of 22.8 °C and a maximum of 26.9 °C.

In the Northern Zone, intermittent rains were observed since dawn, with a forecast of abundant cloud cover and scattered showers during the day.

Ciudad Quesada is expected to register a minimum of 17 °C and a maximum of 25.9 °C.

According to the IMN, the persistent humid conditions in southern Central America, along with the trade winds, have led to abundant cloud cover and scattered showers in the Caribbean and northern regions.

Some of this cloud cover is expected to extend to the Central Valley and surrounding mountainous areas of the country.

The sunrise in San José is scheduled for 05:36 AM, with sunset at 05:47 PM. The lunar phase is moving towards the new moon.
