Ítalo Marenco Mourns the Passing of His Beloved Friend Trafiquina

Janeth Pérez, known as Trafiquina, has died at the age of 55 following a prolonged illness.
On March 27, 2025, Janeth Pérez, affectionately known as Trafiquina, passed away, as confirmed by television presenter Ítalo Marenco through social media.

Her death came soon after it was reported that she was critically ill and hospitalized in León, Nicaragua.

Marenco shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing gratitude for their friendship and recollecting the influence Trafiquina had on his life.

He referred to her as a sisterly figure, emphasizing the bond they shared beyond material circumstances.

Prior to her death, it was revealed that Trafiquina had suffered from severe health issues, specific to her liver, after being hospitalized in Nicaragua where she had requested to return from Costa Rica to be closer to her family.

Marenco had assisted her in securing transportation back to her home country, as she expressed a desire to reunite with her grandchildren.

Marenco indicated that Trafiquina's health had deteriorated over several weeks.

He provided her with medications and arranged for medical consultations after she fell ill in Costa Rica.

Reports indicated she suffered from leg lesions and inflammation related to her liver condition.

Before her passing, Marenco received updates about her health through messages from family members.

A son residing in Costa Rica contacted him to inform him of her critical condition in the León hospital.

Furthermore, a mysterious message on social media revealed that she was intubated and fighting for her life, which prompted Marenco to send assistance for her medications.

Janeth Pérez was 55 years old at the time of her passing.

She relocated to Costa Rica two decades ago, escaping a problematic domestic situation.

In her later years, she lived alone, renting a small room while working as a car caretaker.

The loss of Trafiquina has impacted Marenco profoundly, reflecting the deep friendship they cultivated over the years.
